The great socialist people's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya is located in north Africa between 90 50'E longitude and 180'N - 330N latitude and possesses a Mediterranean coastline of approximately 1820 kilometres in length. It is bordered by Egypt to the East, Sudan to the South east, Chad and Niger to the south with Algeria and Tunisia to the west and north-west respectively. Libya has an area of approximately 1.775.500 sq.Km, and a population of about 4.500.000. The capital city is Tarabulus (Tripoli).

Coastal areas: all over the year, in winter from dicember to march the weather is humid and can be rainy and cold.

Desert areas: from september to may. In winter in the night could be very cold but sky and landscapes are clearer. In summer there are generally very high temperature.
